You must select the product category to which the marked product belongs from the dropdown list/reference guide.
What is a product category
A product category is a group of products that a buyer perceives as similar to each other. The product category is the second level of classification for marked products, above which is the product group, and it determines the rules for marking and subsequent circulation of goods.
What the product category affects
The product category influences the following processes:
stages and deadlines for the introduction of mandatory digital product marking;
the format of the product card and the requirements for its completion when registering the product in the Marked Products Registry;
the HS codes (Harmonized System codes) that can be used to register the product in the Marked Products Registry.
How to determine the product category
The product category is determined by the product group to which the marked product belongs, as well as by the consumer properties and/or characteristics of that product.
