⚠️ Packaging Type (Reference Value, Mandatory)

From the dropdown list/reference guide, you must select the appropriate packaging type – consumer packaging or group packaging.

Product labeling rules define two types of packaging:

  • consumer packaging – primary packaging (packaging that is in direct contact with the product) or a combination of primary packaging and secondary packaging (packaging that contains the product in primary packaging but is not group or transport packaging), delivered to the consumer with the product;

  • group packaging – a collection of products in consumer packaging wrapped in polymer film or paper, or bound with paper tape, which can be sold to the consumer as a whole or disassembled down to consumer packaging.

The basic accounting unit in the digital labeling system is the consumer packaging.

Group packaging is auxiliary and used for logistics processes, but like consumer packaging, it can be withdrawn from circulation upon retail sale to the end consumer.
