Starting from July 1, 2026, the Republic of Uzbekistan will launch a pilot project for the implementation of digital labeling of vegetable oils within the National Product Labeling and Traceability Information System "ASL BELGISI".
The pilot project is being implemented in accordance with Resolution No. 322 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 21, 2021, and will run until December 31, 2026. Mandatory digital labeling for this product category is scheduled to be introduced on July 1, 2027.
The pilot project covers a wide range of vegetable oils, including sunflower, cottonseed, soybean, olive, palm, coconut, rapeseed, and other products classified under HS codes 1507–1515.
The main objective of the pilot project is to provide manufacturers and importers with an opportunity to prepare in advance for the mandatory labeling regime, test business processes, validate labeling code application procedures and system integration mechanisms, and identify potential organizational and technical issues before the mandatory rollout begins.
As part of the pilot, participants will be able to test the full lifecycle of working with labeled products, taking into account the specific features of manufacturing processes, logistics, and product circulation. Consultations, training sessions, working meetings, and on-site visits to production facilities will also be organized for participants.
Currently, the "ASL BELGISI" system supports the full range of operations required for the "Vegetable Oils" product category, including product registration, labeling code issuance, code application, aggregation, product commissioning and withdrawal from circulation, as well as traceability throughout the entire supply chain.
We invite manufacturers and importers of vegetable oils to participate in the pilot project and begin preparing in advance for the upcoming implementation of mandatory digital labeling.
Additional guidelines, methodological materials, and training schedules will be published in the ASL BELGISI Help Center.
