Checking Marking Codes in the “ASL BELGISI. BUSINESS” Mobile App

Marking codes in the ASL BELGISI system can be checked in the following ways:

• In the personal account of the participant in the circulation of goods. You can check either an individual marking code or multiple codes using filters. For more information, see: Codes (MC Verification).

• Using the API. Information about marking codes (MCs) can be obtained using methods 9.1–9.4 of the Open API. Up to 1,000 marking codes can be included in a single request. For more information, see: xTrace: Open API Description.

• In the “ASL BELGISI. BUSINESS” mobile app. The app is available on Google Play and the App Store. You can check a marking code in two ways: manually enter the identification code or scan the complete code using the device camera. For more information, see: “ASL BELGISI. BUSINESS” Mobile App.

Checking Codes in the “ASL BELGISI. BUSINESS” Mobile App

You can check a marking code in the “ASL BELGISI. BUSINESS” mobile app in one of the following ways:

• scan the code using the mobile app camera;

• upload a photo containing the marking code from the gallery;

• enter the marking code manually.

The verification results display the following information:

• the code being checked, encrypted in Data Matrix;

• the marking code verification status and corresponding prompts;

• marking code information, displayed only if the code is registered in the ASL BELGISI system.

Scanning a Code Using the Mobile App Camera

To obtain information about a marking code and product, an authorized user must select the “Scan Codes” section and use the mobile device camera to scan:

• the identification means on the product or packaging (Data Matrix, GS1 Data Matrix). Scanning codes on consumer, group, and shipping packages is supported;

• the barcode (GTIN) of the product or packaging.

If a marking code is scanned and registered in the ASL BELGISI system, the authenticity of the complete code string is verified, including the identification code (IC) and cryptographic part (crypto tail).

If the marking code is not found in the ASL BELGISI system, the user sees corresponding information about the verification result.

Uploading a Photo Containing a Marking Code from the Gallery

This function makes it possible to obtain information about a marking code (CIPU, CIGU, CITU) or product (GTIN) from a photo of the identification means without directly scanning it with the camera.

Recognition of the following is supported:

• one-dimensional EAN / SSCC barcodes;

• two-dimensional Data Matrix codes.

To perform the check:

1. Sign in to the “ASL BELGISI. BUSINESS” mobile app and select the “Scan Codes” section.

2. On the scanning screen, select “Upload Photo.”

3. Select a photo containing the code from the mobile device gallery or file storage and confirm the upload.

After the photo is processed, the mobile app displays the code verification result.

After uploading, the mobile app processes the photo:

• if a barcode or Data Matrix code is recognized in the photo, the code is searched for in the ASL BELGISI system, after which the verification result is displayed;

• if the barcode or Data Matrix code is not recognized, the following warning is displayed: “There is no barcode or Data Matrix code in the photo. Please upload another photo.”

Manual Search for a Marking Code

This function makes it possible to obtain information about a marking code (CIPU, CIGU, CITU) or product (GTIN) without scanning the identification means. You can enter the code manually or paste it from the clipboard, for example, after copying it from a primary document (ESF).

To perform the check:

1. Sign in to the “ASL BELGISI. BUSINESS” mobile app and select the “Scan Codes” section.

2. On the scanning screen, select “Enter Manually.”

3. Enter the code in the field that opens or paste it from the clipboard. You can check only one code per request. The marking code must be entered without the verification key and verification code (crypto tail).

4. Tap “Check.”

After the search is complete, the code verification result in the ASL BELGISI system is displayed on the screen.

Before performing the search, the mobile app automatically checks the entered data, including for invalid characters and compliance with the established code length.

• If the entered data passes verification, the code is searched for in the ASL BELGISI system and the verification result is displayed.

• If the entered data does not meet the established requirements, the following warning is displayed: “The entered data is not a marking code.”

Code Verification Results and Prompts

The marking code is checked sequentially according to the established parameters, taking their priority into account.

The mobile app displays the code status and corresponding prompts based on the verification results.

If a discrepancy is identified for multiple parameters at once, the user sees a list of all identified verification results.

For example:

• the expiration date has passed;

• the code belongs to another participant in the goods circulation.

Verification Result for a Code Registered in the System

If the code is found in the ASL BELGISI system, the information displayed depends on the role and permissions of the user performing the check:

• Summary (public) information is displayed if the user's organization is not the issuer, current owner, or service provider; did not participate in operations involving the code; or the user does not have access to the product group (PG) to which the code belongs.

• Full information, including public and private information, is displayed if the user's organization is the issuer, current owner, or service provider, or participated in operations involving the code, provided that the user has access to the product group (PG) to which the code belongs.
