What is Track & Trace?

Track & Trace (from English “Tracking and Traceability”) is a system for tracking and tracing goods at all stages of their movement from the manufacturer or importer to the end consumer.

In general, it is used for:

  • Identification of each unit of product using a unique code.
  • Registration of events during production, storage, transportation, and sale of the product.
  • Monitoring the movement of goods through an information system.
  • Authenticity verification and prevention of illegal circulation.

In the context of digital marking in Uzbekistan and other countries, Track & Trace (T&T) is, as a rule, a state/national information system into which businesses upload data on the introduction, movement, and withdrawal of products from circulation.

The structure of the marking solution consists of 5 levels:

A system coordinating the actions of marking equipment and the production process.

↓ L4 — 📊Accounting system
A system for collecting and processing marking information from all production assets.
Scale: Organization.
Implementation: Manufacturer and integrator.

L5 — 🏢National/State system
National information system for digital marking and traceability of goods.
Scale: Country.
Implementation: Digital marking operator.
Operation: Digital marking operator.
